The Gold Butte National Monument one of the newest national monuments and includes 350,000 acres of rugged and remote desert landscape. Chiseled red sandstone, tree-clad mountains, twisting canyons are in the stretch of the Mojave Desert. Little Finland is part of the Gold Butte National Monument where a plateau of orange/red Aztec sandstone has been eroded into intricate and complex forms in an area of 2,000 by 400 feet. At this time there is no visitor center or modern facilities.
